Walk-in enquiries are not taken at this address. Intake is arranged by phone or email first, so that a practitioner is free when you arrive.

If a call is missed, leave a first name and a safe number to call back. We do not leave detailed messages on voicemail.
Intake calls are booked in 45-minute slots. Court preparation sessions are usually scheduled earlier in the day.
We work across the Western Cape and Gauteng, with referrals into shelters, legal aid clinics, and public health services. Written materials are available in English, with isiXhosa and Afrikaans summaries where possible.
Most people find this page after reading something else on the site and still wondering which door to knock on. The routes below are the ones we actually use. If you are unsure whether your situation fits, call anyway and we will say so plainly rather than pass you around.
Call the unit line or send a short message through the contact form. You do not need to explain everything in the first message. A first name, a safe number to call back, and a rough idea of what you need is enough to start.
Intake calls are usually scheduled within two working days. If a call is missed, we try once more on a different day and time, then leave it with you to reach out again when it is safe.
Referrals from social workers, legal aid attorneys, and public health staff are answered within one working day. Send the referral pack request by email and note whether you are asking for counselling, court preparation, or both, since the timelines differ.
Please leave out graphic detail and identifying case information. We work from what the client is ready to say in their own words.
The unit is not an emergency service and does not monitor messages overnight. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the police or a local shelter first, then reach us afterwards for ongoing support and referral.
For court dates falling within the next few days, say so when you make contact so the intake can be moved forward.
